In 2008 Dick Pillar Enterprises, Inc announced a “Time Out” for two major Pillar events scheduled for 2009, the annual summer Polkabration and fall Polka weekend. Arrangements were made to resume the Pillar Polkabration at Mohegan Sun June 11-13, 2010. At this time, Dick Pillar has released the following statement: Recently, after careful examination of the continuing economic conditions and its effects on New England tourism, I have come to the conclusion that it is not feasible to continue with the June 2010 planning. I have contacted my wonderful neighbors, the Mohegan Tribe, along with the Mohegan Sun management advising them of my decision and thanking them for their continued support.
